Production / Inspection / Testing

HCR Transfer Molding

QSR specializes in transfer molding using high consistency rubber to produce micro to mid-sized products.

Consider HCR Transfer Molding for these products:

  • InsulatorsHCR Transfer Molding
  • Connectors
  • Wire seals
  • Grommets
  • Cable seals
  • Interfacial seals
  • Gaskets
  • Boots
  • Dielectric
  • Spark plugs
  • Coils
  • Additional products based on customer needs – just ask!

Liquid Injection Molding

QSR’s state-of-the-art liquid injection molding (LIM) machines are automated to run faster than other processes and reduce labor costs on custom parts.

Liquid Injection Molding EquipmentWhile LIM is ideal for processing a wide array of liquid silicone rubber (LSR), it is typically selected based on material requirements and is often geared for higher volume applications. However, QSR’s capabilities extend to low volume LIM production as well (see Custom Volume Production).

Consider Liquid Injection Molding for these products:

  • Open center seals
  • Gasket type parts
  • Additional products based on customer needs – just ask!

Rubber Overmolding

QSR’s continuing investment in engineering, technical expertise and product development, especially in the manufacture of two component (2K) or rubber overmolding projects for custom and offshore applications, is what sets us apart from the competition.

Choose either HCR transfer or liquid injection molding (LIM), depending on your requirements and the application. Either one can produce parts with the rubber chemically bonded to a metal or plastic insert.

QSR’s proactive approach and major investment in proprietary adhesion test mold and methodology ensures proper validation for numerous substrates and elastomers used in both HCR and LSR processes.

Consider QSR’s rubber overmolding capabilities especially for:

  • Ignition wire
  • Cable seals
  • Additional products based on customer needs – just ask!

Custom Volume Production

QSR’s low to mid-volume production capabilities mirror our full-scale manufacturing operations, using the same exceptional tooling strategy to yield tight tolerance, flashless part prototyping and short runs.

Capabilities also include secondary operations such as post treatments and pad printing.

Implemented in 2010 with four 100 ton transfer presses, our low to mid-volume area now supports seven prototype specific presses, eleven transfer presses ranging from 50 ton–250 ton and three new liquid injection presses.

Consider QSR’s low to mid-volume capabilities for components used in these industries:

  • Aerospace
  • Industrial
  • Automotive
  • Military
