Chief Information Officer

Purpose of the job

The Chief Information Officer is a key member of the leadership team and a critical function to drive improved performance.  The Chief Information Officer will develop, plan, and implement an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security.

Key accountabilities

  • Responsible for reviewing the performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and system upgrade requirements
  • Work closely with internal and external customers as well as with vendors and IT service providers
  • Benchmark corporate and business unit IT infrastructure and make recommendations for their upgrades
  • Prepare the organization for IT security audits or investigations
  • Manage enterprise information, systems, and the security of the IT network
  • Provide overall management and leadership of the information technology support team
  • Offer end user support via help desk, training, data servers, communication platforms and ERP systems

Reporting relationships

  • Reports to Chief Financial Officer
  • Direct Reports: US & Global IT team

Knowledge, skills and experience (Minimum qualification required) 

  • 15 or more years of relevant IT/IS experience within a multi-site manufacturing organization
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree required in computer science or a related business field
  • Familiarity with various mid-tier ERP solutions.  Experience with IQMS software is a plus
  • Proficient at researching/searching for IT solutions to resolve problems in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced environment which requires switching between high end and low-end technical support
  • High levels of energy, motivation to accomplish goals and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and influence at multiple levels in the organization

  • Technical Certifications such as MCSE or CCNP
