Plant Human Resources Manager

The Plant HR Manager will guide and manage the excellence of the Human Resources function while serving as a valued business partner for their assigned location. Essentially, the purpose of this position is to maximize the effectiveness of our associates and ensure regulatory compliance

Key accountabilities

  • Directly responsible for fulfilling all staffing requirements; identifying potential candidates and selection process for the site. This includes management of staffing agencies for temporary roles and recruiting for both hourly and salaried positions
  • Conduct all New Hire Orientations and properly onboard all employees
  • Partner with Corporate HR to achieve functional excellence. This includes but is not limited to recruiting, staffing, structure, compensation changes, payroll, talent management, administration of all Q Holding benefit plans, and other HR initiatives
  • Oversee the implementation of Human Resources programs and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for Worker’s Compensation and unemployment claims within assigned location
  • Management of all employee and labor relations issues while partnering with Global Human Resources Director on all activity
  • Interpretation and enforcement of Company policies and procedures
  • Utilize UltiPro for both HR and payroll transactions, as well as reporting purposes
  • Partnership in the development and training of various management programs such as progressive discipline, compliance, business acumen, employee/labor relations, and other topics as necessary
  • Deep understanding of FMLA, HIPAA, Wage and Hour, ADA, Sexual Harassment, Discrimination and all other applicable employment laws
  • Leave of absence administration for assigned location
  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships, collaborate, coach and influence varying levels of the organization
  • Provide hands on support to plant operations which includes weekly rosters, vacation schedules, attendance review, disciplinary mentoring / review, and additional support as needed
  • Coordinate safety team efforts. This includes monthly safety walks, SharePoint coordination, monthly safety topics / talks, etc.

Knowledge, skills and experience: Minimum qualification required

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or a related field and 5 -10 years of experience in an HR Management role

Knowledge/experience required beyond minimum qualification

  • SPHR or PHR/SHRM-CP or SCP desired
